My dad inspired plenty of things in my life: my love of music, my “radio voice” that I turned into a podcasting career, the name of this brand, and my appreciation for cycling. When I was a kid, I remember him going to Arizona for a 100-mile bike ride to raise money for leukemia. I thought, “what a crazy idea!” My views haven’t changed. It’s a crazy idea, even as I saddle up to attempt a similar feat.
At the end of August, I am headed up to New York City to challenge the limits of my mind, body and soul in support of the East Coast Greenway Alliance. To raise money for the greenway, ECGA is hosting a 2-day, 125-mile community ride from New York City, to Princeton, to Philadelphia. To participate, I have to raise at least $1200. If you are interested in supporting the cause, you can find my GoFundMe page here.
Even now, you continue to inspire me, Daddy, to lean into my curiosity and challenge myself. I know we wanted to do this ride together this year, but just know I’ll be thinking about you the whole way.
Happy Father’s Day!
