My guest is Nevy Ramadanovic.
Nevy is a DJ and producer based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He’s been a staple of the Triangle and Charlotte music scene for years. He is one of the many characters in the Runaway Extended Universe that have been on the show. We had the pleasure of working together many times during my tenure at the company, including a stop in Charlotte for our New Carolina tour back in 2017.
He and I talked about how he got into DJing, who his inspirations are in the industry, and how he’s been able to maintain during COVID. Obviously, we’ve all been stuck at home and like many of you, Nevy has been reflecting on the past, trying to live in the present while planning for an uncertain near future.
I’ve never had a bad encounter with Nevy. We share an appreciation for Tequila Tuesdays at The Library in Chapel Hill, and underground hip-hop artists from the early 2000s like Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, and Little Brother, many of whom he got to see at Cat’s Cradle growing up in Chapel Hill. Lucky bastard…
